Eid Celebration 2024 – Significance and Preparations
Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated by Muslims worldwide because it marks the end of the month-long down-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan. Eid Celebration 2024 is a day-long celebration and is also known as smaller Eid because the other Eid named Eid-ul-Adha is a four-day festival.
Date:– Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated during the first three days of shawal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar which starts with the sighting of the new moon. Since the Muslims follow the lunar calendar, the Eid-ul-Fitr date changes yearly. This year Eid Celebration 2024 will be celebrated on 11th April but the end of Ramadan will be decided only after sighting the moon day on the 29th day of Shabnam.
Preparations:- The night before Eid is known as the “Chaand Raat” which is the time when people often visit the market and malls for the last minutes of shopping.
Particularly buying new clothes for Eid Day and also buying gifts for their relatives and close ones. Girls and women also apply Heena on their hands and feet to make beautiful patterns.
Chaand Raat is also a good time for decorating the home and preparing delicious food and sweets for the Eid Celebration 2024. It includes many items like sheer khurma, baklava, samosas, etc.
Eid Celebration 2024: – Celebration
On the following morning, Muslims go to their local mosque or Eidgah for the Eid namaz. They give Eid Zakat (donation) to the poor people before returning home. After that children ask for the Eidi (cash or gifts) from their parents and relatives. Then friends and relatives visit each other homes to wish Eid and eat together.
A variety of mouth-watering dishes are prepared on Chaand Raat for Eid being served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Biryani (either Lamb or chicken) is the signature dish of Eid without which Eid is considered to incomplete. Many of the Bakery items such as the pastry, cakes, Coconut biscuits, etc are also served with the tea in the evening.
Eid Celebration 2024: – Do’s and Dont’s

- Must participate in the Eid prayers at the mosque or in the outdoor prayer ground.
- Before Eid prayers, give zakat to the poor which is a noble work or a form of charity is necessary, which ensures that everyone takes part in the celebration of Eid.
- Wear clean and ethical clothes according to the Islamic tradition
- Greet friends, family members, and other fellow Muslims with the traditional greeting “Eid Mubarak” which means Blessed Eid.
Eid Celebration 2024: – Don’t’s
- Avoid engaging in arguments or negative thoughts which can ruin the atmosphere of the holy festival.
- Besides the Eid prayers, continue to perform your regular prayers and engage yourself in worship. Don’t break your daily routine prayers.
- Don’t isolate yourself from the others. Become social, meet with friends, and celebrate the special day with them.
- Avoid showing off your kinds of stuff to others.
- Don’t exclude others based on color and on other things like Creed and Race.
- Avoid over-eating food & maintain a moderation of food consumption.
- Don’t neglect the personal hygiene.
